Have you been to Dubai recently? Over the years I have visited many times and each time I am always amazed at how quickly this city changes and evolves.
Last week I came back from Dubai and Abu Dhabi where I met with potential clients. The energy of these two cities is palpable and very exciting. These two places are on the move . . . and fast! I came back very enthused after meeting key potential clients, which was made possible by the support of the President of the Union des Francais a l’Etranger for Dubai, Mr. Laurent Rigaud.
While in Dubai I had the opportunity to stay at the H Hotel on Sheik Al Sayed road. What a nice independently run hotel, formerly the Monarch, with a very friendly and professional General Manager Guy Bertaud. My stay was short but very comfortable with nice rooms, great views and for those carnivores out there an excellent steakhouse.
Business tip for the French who are interested in Dubai … connect with
Mme Isabelle Leroy, Executive Director of the French Business Council in Dubai. She is very active and we are now planning a seminar where I will do “How To Get The Best Of Me” for their members in Dubai in November 2012. At the occasion of their monthly cocktail, you also have the opportunity to connect with key people in Dubai from all industries, which makes for a very interesting evening.
After a few days in Dubai, I drove just over an hour to Abu Dhabi, stopping on the way at the Viceroy Yas Hotel for a meeting. The proximity to the Grand Prix circuit was stimulating and the hotel itself has a very interesting architecture and design. I took the opportunity to meet a friend at the new Park Hyatt on Saadiyat Island and must say the site is so beautiful with an amazing beach and no vendors or hawkers, just peace, tranquility and beauty a mere 6 hours away from Europe, WOW!!! Am planning to get back there but would love to be there on vacation next time. In the City Center I stayed at the Rotana Beach Hotel, their flagship and I can understand why this is their flagship. The service was impeccable, excellent rooms, great location and my stay was just perfect.
The next stage for me is to return next month to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to follow up and discuss more opportunities but also to get inspired by the positive energy that these 2 destinations offer. They are the perfect locations to launch my new program from Big Waves of Inspiration “How To Get The Best of Me” and explore opportunities in collaboration with key partners on environmental management with EarthCheck programs. See you in Dubai or Abu Dhabi .
